Can't Buy Me Love

Finances accurately described by one of the most beloved bands of all time, the Beatles. Everyone loves the Beatles.. Except, of course, my fiance. Not like the Beatles? I know, it seems crazy. But Ethan seriously dislikes them. I don't even want to talk about it anymore, it upsets me so much.

But anyway. I have worked as an Assistant Preschool Teacher for a whole 2 and half weeks now. And I love it. One thing I was sure I wouldn't like, however, was the salary. Coming from being a Retail Manager at the mall, Ethan and I took quite a hit money wise in our house.

Two things really made the difference for me, though:
1) I love my job. I am even willing to pick up waitressing a few nights a week in order to help make ends meet a little bit more.
2) Ethan is so supportive of this change. He saw the paychecks at my last job, but he also saw how unhappy I was there. He (followed by my mother) was the first one to tell me to take the leap.

Moral of the story..
Happiness > Money
and Ethan is awesome and I love him :)

Cheesy Cheesefest

No truer words have ever been said, Bob.

* discovered on Orchid Grey's blog, here. :)

I especially like "love hard when there's love to be had." I know, ridiculously barfy. But on the reals, I love Ethan. And I so can't wait to be married.

This is XENAAAAA!

Let me introduce the cutest thing that graces my presence, my baby kitty. Her name is Xena Warrior Princess, and she's kind of awesome.

Don't mind her semi-stoned appearance, she's way too straight edge for that. She just doesn't have the patience to put up with amateur photographers like myself. Regardless, Skiles and I were watching the movie Blood Diamond with Leonardo DiCaprio on this rainy, rainy day. Take a moment to sigh, please:

Ahhh, swoon. But in the movie, if you haven't seen it, a large portion of the conflict has to do with children acting as soldiers. What would you do if a child had you at gunpoint? I'll tell you what I'd do.. Give up the ghost 'cause there's no way I'm shooting a kid. Which led me to question, does the cuter the soldier mean the harder it is to fight? Because in that case, I've decided to create a whole new genre of army: cat mercenaries. You read that right. Cute little kitten, snuggling on your feet and then BAM. Tiny little AK's and tiny little knives muffing you up. And let's be real, if any cat is made to be a warrior, wouldn't it be Xena? Warrior is literally her middle name.

Ahh yes. Now doesn't that toasted appearance now seem like a "don't come at me" kind of look? I thought so.

Moral of the story, don't mess with me. I've got back up.

Time, Why You Punish Me?

Thanks for the intro, Hootie! But for reals, there are two reasons this fruity cowboy is starting this entry:

1) It's "time" to start keeping track of my grown up life. Haha, get it? But anyway.. Being engaged to Ethan (aww yeah, hottie patottie) means that married life is right around the corner. I will be creating a wedding website at some point for guests & such, but this is not that website. I want to keep track of my life & the things that go on so that one day when I'm old and senile (and you can bet I will be), I'll have something to show my kids. Because even though I love my parents, I feel like they were born, went to school, got married, and a magical seven years passed where nothing happened until I came into existence. And I'm sure they had some sort of life together, but I darn well have no clue what happened.

2) And glorious reason two for the 90's lyrics: Ethan proposed to me the night we saw Darius Rucker in concert at the Mississippi Valley fair. So precious, I know. And even though I sincerely hate country music, I have a special place in my heart for Hootie and his sappy love songs. And Ethan, amidst his Tupac & Joe Budden rap collection, is totally in love with this man. But in a totally manly way, of course.

So, if you ever want to laugh at the going-ons/misfortures/adventures of the Kelley/Salazar household, go ahead and follow this blog. It's gonna be a good time.
